At Bryandale Primary, we understand that learning does not stop when the school bell rings. Our Aftercare Centre provides a safe and nurturing environment for learners from grades 1 to 7 after regular school hours or extracurricular activities.

What We Offer:
- Flexible Attendance Options:
Parents can choose between two attendance options:
Every Day Flat Rate: For families who need consistent aftercare, our flat rate allows learners to attend every day.
Daily Rate: For more flexibility, learners can attend on specific days as needed. - Lunch and Nutritious Meals:
We believe in fuelling young minds. Our Aftercare Centre provide a wholesome lunch, ensuring that learners have the energy they need for their afternoon activities. - Guided Study and Homework Sessions:
Our dedicated staff assist learners with their homework, reinforcing concepts learned during the school day. Whether it is Maths problems, reading comprehension, or science projects, we are here to help. - Free Play and Recreation:
After a productive day, learners unwind through free play. Outdoor games, creative arts, and social interactions allow them to relax and recharge. - eLearning Centre Access:
Need extra support or want to explore digital skills? Our eLearning centre is open during aftercare hours. A designated teacher is available from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Thursday to guide learners through coding, computer literacy, and more.

Bryandale Learning Center
The Bryandale Learning Center (BLC) was established by Bryandale Primary School as a service to the pupils, parents and teachers of Bryandale Primary School with the aim of providing an integrated approach to therapy, in a convenient and cost-effective way.
The Bryandale Learning Centre is situated on the school property. A multi-disciplinary team of therapists run the BLC in a private capacity. The therapists are committed to close liaison with the teachers of pupils they are working with, discussing their progress through verbal or written reports. The proximity of the Learning Centre to the school means greater convenience for parents and facilitates therapy during the child’s school day.

About Us
The Knowledge Base was established as a Not-for-Profit organization, independently managed and run, but with very strong connections to the main Bryandale Primary School campus. Our vision as an organization is very closely linked to that of Bryandale Primary School in so far as we share the common vision to introduce and enhance STEM subjects into the school curriculum and within world class facilities.
The Knowledge Base was developed in 2000 in response to a call by the Department of Education to incorporate more Design and Technology subjects and teaching into the curriculum at the time. The Knowledge Base property was at the time two residential properties, but because of its close proximity to the Bryandale Primary School campus, it was perfectly positioned to be developed not only to enhance the offering of Bryandale Primary School, but also to become a “Center in the Community for the Community”.

In close consultation with both the directors of The Knowledge Base and Bryandale Primary School, the property was developed and initially offered.

In 2018 there was a need to expand the property to further accommodate the needs of Bryandale Primary School as well as the wider community. The property now offers.
- 8 modern, world class classrooms, including.
- A spacious creative arts classroom
- A 21st century computer classroom
- An E-sports/gaming arena
- Boardroom/meeting room facilities
The Knowledge Base is not only positioned and developed to help enhance the overall offering of Bryandale Primary School, making it a “Best of Joburg” school, but also to have world class facilities available for the wider community to use.
Our social impact within the community is as important to us as is being a sustainably run and managed organization.
